OUR VALUES

Guided by the Seven Sacred Teachings

Digital DEVA is guided by the Seven Sacred Teachings: Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility, and Truth.

These teachings shape how we teach, lead, partner, and support learners.

They remind us that digital skills are not just technical skills. They are connected to confidence, dignity, boundaries, accountability, and care.

PARTNER INVITATION

Bring Digital DEVA to your community

Digital DEVA partners with transition houses, Indigenous organizations, rural and remote communities, funders, and community-based organizations to deliver accessible virtual assistant and remote work training.

If your organization supports women, non-binary people, Indigenous learners, people rebuilding their lives, or communities facing employment barriers, we would love to explore what is possible together.

Ready to take the next step?

Whether you want to learn, partner, support a future cohort, or bring Digital DEVA to your community, there is a place for you in this work.

  • The DEVA Accelerator is a guided virtual assistant training program designed primarily for Indigenous women and non-binary people who want to build practical digital skills, grow confidence, and prepare for flexible remote work.

The program covers virtual assistant foundations, communication skills, file management, digital tools, AI-supported workflows, workflow organization, job readiness, and early-stage business basics. Learners build the skills and confidence needed to explore employment, freelance work, self-employment, or a blended career path.

  • The DEVA Accelerator is designed for women and non-binary people who are interested in virtual assistant work, remote work, digital skills, and flexible income pathways.

The program may be a good fit for learners who are:

    • new to remote work

    • returning to the workforce

    • rebuilding after a major life transition

    • living in a rural or remote community

    • exploring freelance or self-employment

    • interested in becoming a virtual assistant

    • ready to build confidence with digital tools and communication

You do not need to be an expert before you begin. The program is designed to help you build skills one step at a time.

  • Digital DEVA is intentionally focused on supporting Indigenous women and non-binary people, especially those living in rural, remote, and underserved communities.

Our roots are in creating practical virtual assistant and remote work pathways for Indigenous learners who want flexible, meaningful income opportunities that fit their lives, families, communities, and responsibilities.

Depending on the cohort, there may be opportunities for non-Indigenous learners to participate, especially through community partnerships or where space allows. However, our primary focus remains on Indigenous learners and Indigenous-led pathways into digital skills, virtual assistance, remote work, and economic self-determination.

  • The program includes 12 weeks of instructional learning followed by 4 weeks of job readiness and career launch preparation

  • No. The DEVA Accelerator is a guided cohort-based program. You move through the course with your cohort and receive support from facilitators throughout the program.

Some assignments and practice activities may be completed on your own time, but learners are expected to participate regularly and keep up with the weekly schedule.

  • Yes. The DEVA Accelerator includes live learning sessions, office hours, or group check-ins, depending on the cohort delivery model.

Live sessions are an important part of the program because they give learners a chance to ask questions, practice skills, connect with facilitators, and build confidence.

  • We understand that life happens.

If you need to miss a session, you are expected to communicate with the facilitator as soon as possible and catch up on any missed work. Depending on the cohort, recordings, notes, or follow-up support may be available.

Because the program moves quickly and builds week by week, it is important to stay as caught up as possible.

Regular participation helps you get the most out of the course and stay connected to the learning community.

  • Yes, many learners can work while taking the DEVA Accelerator, especially if they have flexibility in their schedule.

The program does require time for live sessions, assignments, practice, and independent learning. Learners should expect to set aside regular time each week to participate fully and keep up with the course.

  • Learners should expect to spend time each week attending sessions, reviewing materials, practicing digital tools, and completing assignments.

The exact time commitment may vary by cohort, but you should plan for several hours each week outside of live sessions.

  • No. You do not need previous virtual assistant experience.

The DEVA Accelerator is designed to support beginners and learners who may be returning to work, changing direction, or building confidence with digital tools.cription

  • No. You do not need to consider yourself “techy.”

Many learners start with limited confidence around technology. The program breaks digital tools and remote work skills into practical, manageable steps so you can learn through practice and support.

  • The DEVA Accelerator is designed for learners who already have basic computer and admin skills.

Throughout the program, you will build on those existing skills and learn how to use digital tools more confidently, efficiently, and professionally in a virtual assistant and remote work context.

This may include tools and practices related to:

    • online communication

    • file organization

    • scheduling and calendars

    • project and task management

    • digital note-taking

    • workflow systems

    • client communication

    • online collaboration

    • basic automation

    • AI tools for productivity, writing support, organizing information, and working more efficiently

The goal is not just to learn more apps. The goal is to understand how to use digital tools well so you can stay organized, communicate clearly, manage tasks, and support clients or employers with confidence.

  • Yes. The DEVA Accelerator introduces practical ways to use AI as a support tool for virtual assistant and remote work.

You may explore how AI can help with brainstorming, drafting, summarizing, organizing information, preparing communications, creating checklists, and improving workflow efficiency.

AI is not treated as a replacement for your judgment, professionalism, or lived experience. It is a tool that can help you work more efficiently when used thoughtfully, ethically, and carefully.

  • Yes. Learners need access to a laptop or desktop computer to complete the program.

A tablet or phone alone will not be enough for the type of work covered in the course. Virtual assistant work requires regular use of online tools, documents, email, file storage, video meetings, and workflow systems.

For some funded cohorts, technology support may be available. Please ask about this during registration.

  • Yes. You will need a reliable internet connection to participate in online learning, attend Zoom sessions, access course materials, use digital tools, and complete assignments.

You do not need a landline. A mobile phone is helpful for communication, two-factor authentication, calendar reminders, and some virtual assistant workflows.

  • Communication may include Zoom, email, Slack, and other online tools introduced during the program.

Learners will receive clear instructions on how to access sessions, ask questions, submit assignments, and stay connected with facilitators and classmates.

The program is designed to help learners practice the same communication tools and habits used in remote work.

  • A new virtual assistant may support clients or organizations with email, scheduling, document preparation, research, file organization, social media support, customer service, data entry, online meetings, and basic project support.

As a VA gains experience, the work can grow into bookkeeping, graphic design, project management, systems support, content coordination, podcast support, course support, grant support, or executive-level administration.

  • No course can guarantee employment.

Digital DEVA helps learners build skills, confidence, job readiness, and a clearer pathway into virtual assistant and remote work opportunities. Your results will depend on your participation, practice, effort, local opportunities, and the pathway you choose after the program.

  • The current DEVA Accelerator does not include a formal practicum.

Instead, the program includes practical assignments, career readiness preparation, and portfolio-building activities to help learners prepare for employment, freelance work, self-employment, or a blended career path.

  • Yes. Learners who successfully complete the DEVA Accelerator will receive a certificate of completion.

Completion requirements may include attending sessions, participating in learning activities, completing assignments, and finishing the job readiness portion of the program.

  • Funding may be available depending on the cohort, community partner, and funding source.

Some cohorts may be fully or partially funded through partnerships with community organizations, funders, or sponsoring agencies. Please contact Digital DEVA to ask about current funding options.

  • The cost may vary depending on how the cohort is funded or delivered.

For partner-hosted cohorts, tuition and learner supports may be covered through grants, sponsorships, or organizational funding. For self-funded learners, pricing will be confirmed before registration opens.

Please contact us for current tuition and funding details.

  • Deposit requirements depend on the cohort and funding model.

Some funded cohorts may not require a deposit, while self-funded or partially funded cohorts may require one to hold a seat. Details will be shared during the application or registration process.

  • Application details will depend on the cohort.

Some cohorts may be offered through community partners, while others may have a direct application or interest form through Digital DEVA. Please contact us or complete the inquiry form to ask about upcoming cohorts.

  • After completing the program, learners may explore employment, freelance work, self-employment, or a blended career path.

The final phase of the DEVA Accelerator focuses on job readiness and career launch preparation so you can leave with stronger skills, clearer options, and practical next steps.

DEVA Course FAQ

What DEVA Graduates Are Saying

Hear from past learners about how the DEVA Accelerator helped them build confidence, digital skills, and a clearer path forward.

  • “Overall, I enjoyed the DEVA Accelerator program. I found the course full of information and appreciated the step-by-step guidance on how to do things.

As a beginner, I appreciated that even the most basic steps were covered. I loved the personal stories, seeing the DEVA back-end systems, and the different ways of learning throughout the course. The occasional comic relief kept things fun and engaging.

I started the course as a stay-at-home mother and later began working full time while completing the second half of the program. Even with less time to practise, I was still able to complete the course successfully.

Managing family life while working full time was difficult at times, but I was reminded to just do what I could and that everything was figureoutable. I am so happy that I was able to be part of this program!”
